Richmond - river craft and gentlemen’s yachts
Richmond – Historic and ceremonial river craft and gentlemen's yachts. The day will include behind the scenes visits and traditional boat trips on the Thames.
Visit information: Meet Richmond Bridge Boathouses (just below Richmond Bridge) at 10am for a boatyard tour and a visit to the historic motor yacht LILIAN built by C G Pettersson, Stockholm, Sweden in 1916 and substantially restored to sea-going use by her current owners, Scott and Hilary Pereira.
Richmond Bridge Boathouses include the yard of Mark Edwards MBE, builder of HM The Queen's Rowbarge Gloriana who will give a talk on her construction.
It is intended to include options for short trips in one or more traditional Thames boats including a wherry and a Dunkirk Little Ship. These are optional and an additional charge may be made. Lunch will be provided at 3 Ducks Walk.
The guided walk and visits will end at 4pm and the cost for the day is £25 (includes vessel visits but excluding boat trips).
Accessibility: Total walk length c 2 miles, easy terrain but some climbing up and down ladders/stairways required to access vessels. Please note that numbers are limited to 30 due to the capacity of the vessel and other visit sites.
