Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust

Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust is a charitable property company responsible for the conservation and re-use of the buildings in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, which is the publicly accessible part of Portsmouth Naval Base.

The Trust's main function is that of landlord and guardian of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. The majority of buildings and structures in the Historic Dockyard are Grade 1 and Grade 2* Listed Buildings. The Trust's active management of the site ensures that these historic buildings and structures are safeguarded to create an enduring maritime heritage centre of the highest class for the enjoyment of future generations.

Some of the attractions occupying these buildings and structures include the HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, National Museum of the Royal Navy and Mary Rose. Boathouse 4 contains the Trust's collection of historic vessels -now one of the largest collections of military related craft.  The Trust has recently succeeded in obtaining funding from the Chancellor's LIBOR Fund to create the "Memorial Flotilla" - a collection of fully operational craft representing those which took part in the defence of the realm throughout the 20th Century. These include WW1 steam powered craft, several WW2 vessels and a landing craft which took part in the Falklands Campaign.

Volunteering opportunities include helping to restore and maintain the historic boats as well as interact with visitors, act as tour guides and crew our operational boats at Boathouse 4
