Guided tour of the Boathouse 4 Memorial Flotilla

Saturday, 16 May 2020

Guided tour of the Boathouse 4 Memorial Flotilla and steam collection, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard Boathouse 4 (BH4).

As well as providing widely renowned wooden boat building skills through its training college IBTC Portsmouth, Boathouse 4 has collected and restored a Memorial Flotilla – a collection of small craft which have played a vital role in the sea conflicts of the 20th century. This includes RAF High Speed Launch 102, Motor Anti Submarine Boat 27 and Motor Gun Boat 81, all of which took part in last year's D Day celebrations on both sides of the Channel.

The Trust also provides a home for a growing steam collection including Armed Steam Cutter 438,
Steam Pinnace 199 and, since October 2019, steam coasting lighter VIC 56.

This event will be guided by Diggory Rose, Director of Marine Operations at BH4 and will include visits to vessels.

Meeting point: Boathouse 4 entrance 11am. It is essential to register for this event in order to get on board the moored vessels.
